And check out the exhibit, Mesoamerican Mosaic: New Jersey’s Guatemalan, Salvadoran and Honduran Communities, curated by Ingrid Betancourt, and the program of performances and films starting with the opening reception on the 12th.

The Global Perspectives Film Series, a partnership between MIC, ITVS and Young Professionals in Foreign Policy, featured Niños de la Memoria as their monthly documentary film screening, for July. Discussion afterward with Michele Manatt, Chair, Council on Women’s Leadership at Meridian and a consultant on U.S. foreign policy; David Holiday, Senior Regional Advocacy Officer, Latin America Program, Open Society Foundations; and Kathryn Smith Pyle.

Niños de la Memoria was broadcast on Global Voices, Sunday June 30, 2013.

Global Voices, a showcase of internationally themed documentaries made by independent filmmakers from around the globe, is part of The World Channel (worldchannel.org), a 24/7, full service multicast channel featuring public television’s signature nonfiction documentary, science and news programming complemented by original content from emerging producers.

The film streamed for 21 days following the broadcast and will be rebroadcast by local stations. Check your local listings for more information!

LASA is the world’s largest professional association of individuals and institutions engaged in the study of Latin America, with 7,000 members, 45% of whom are outside the U.S.
